Where We Meet

Old  West Ministries was born in 1993. It began as a Bible study with 13  people in a living room. Each week the group kept growing. Soon  outgrowing the house the congregation of about 40 went outdoors.  
There have been brief times throughout the years when the church was able to  use a building or indoor facility. But Sky Valley, CA is a rural  community and is located 10 to 15 miles from areas where a building or storefronts could even be rented for services.


A  good portion of the regular congregation is transient and some are only with us during the mild months. The majority of the full-timers are  seniors and families.
Even  still, Old West Ministries has impacted the community in a positive  way. Bringing special events, concerts, special musical guests and  family fun are just a part of what this organization does.


Old  West Ministries has organized food drives. Helped local families and  individuals with food, gifts and necessities during the holidays. Helped  struggling families with school clothes, visited the homeless camps  with food, blankets and musical entertainment and handed out bibles with  the Gideon's.


Old  West Ministries has hosted (on several occasions) one of the largest  Easter Egg Hunts in the Coachella Valley with over 5,000 hard-boiled  colored eggs.


Old  West Ministries has been web-casting for several years sending Country  Gospel Jubilee all around the globe. Now, OWM is the first Cowboy Church  to have a Roku channel that has the potential  to reach 10 million  American homes according to a release by Roku earlier this year. Also launched the Christian Cowboy Television Network.


All this and more Old West Ministries has been doing with volunteers, portable equipment and many outdoor services!

Our team is ALL volunteer. People who know how to give of their time and  their talent to touch the lives of others.


From the stet-ups to the tear-downs, to the countless projects to reach our community and beyond.    
Greeting, making coffee, setting out refreshments, setting up  sound equipment, running sound, talented musicians and singers, the  complexities of video production and broadcast, internet, email, phone  calls and even a friendly smile, hug and prayer come from these  dedicated folks who know what a difference Jesus can make in your life. 

Our mission is to preach and teach the uncompromising word of God. Jesus  said "you must be BORN AGAIN."


We believe in the Father, the Son and  the Holy Spirit.


We believe in the sovereign move of God.


We believe that Jesus still works miracle today, for He is the same yesterday, and  today and forever.


We believe in water baptism.


We believe in all the gifts of the Spirit and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.


We believe God is LOVE. We believe in spreading His LOVE in that GOSPEL means good news!  


Reaching around the world with the simple message of hope and love that Jesus Christ is Lord!  


In  the old West the church was central to civilization. In fact many,  including the railroad knew how important Christianity was to taming the  Old West. The church was the hub of family living and was very much a  part of the community in every way.  Our vision is that Old West Ministries, can once again help make Jesus Christ the center of your life.
